Ayy yo,

Ya ever have one of those moments where you saw somebody do something stupid but you were just too busy to really call them on it?  That happened to me this past weekend.  There I was sitting in my living room around 4:30pm, listening to one of my nephew's upcoming plans for college this fall, when my doorbell rang.  The grinning salesman standing on the other side of the door tried quickly to play comedian and said, "Dayum!" looking me up and down, "You're a big dude," and broadened his smile to reveal two of the biggest, brownest, nicotene stained chompers that I ever saw.  They looked worst than a used filter on a day old Marlboro cigarette butt that you'd find in any rain soaked gutter.

Now, I'm not a sensitive guy by any stretch of the imagination, and as a part-time wannabe comedian I can't afford to be.  However, two things burned me up about this guy's stupid approach:

1.  How the fugg was he gonna try and smile up in erry-body's face with those teeth that looked like they have been soaking in chocolate milk all year long?

2.  He obviously didn't want to make any money by running around comedically pointing out his potential customer base's short-comings.

Since I didn't have the time to go "snap" for "snap" with this guy at the moment, I just brushed him aside with, "Look, I'm kinda busy right now.  Thanks but no thanks."  But Lawd knows I wanted to go off on him.

So BAF, you ever had a moment where somebody did something really stupid but you were too busy to call them on it?

Good Morning Aaron!

I went to my high school alumni fundraiser this weekend.  Had a lot of fun and saw some people I haven't seen in awhile.  I came to the conclusion that some folks just don't age gracefully.  LOL

While I wasn't too busy...I was just too embarrassed for them to call anybody out.  As I walked around mingling and catching up, a lot of people were complimenting each other with the usual...'oh you look so nice...you look just like you did in high school'...etc.   But what do you say when you come across those who say that to you and you can't  (with an honest face) say the same to them?    All I could do in that case is say thanks and keep it moving.  That's a pretty awkward moment because you KNOW they are expecting you to compliment them back too.  LMAO

Yipes!!!    That is an awkward one.  Some people tend to act like you either "make them or break them" with your comments in a case like that.  I don't envy you in that one at all.  LOL

Hey Aaron, actually I have to commend you.  Even though you didn't go off on him because you were too busy for the stupidness he was spewing out all over the place, I think what you said was perfect.  You didn't allow his ignorance to lower you to his level.

Some people are just plain.....stupid.

Several years ago, I was working for a large international company.  There were at least 1300 people at this one location.  One day, I went into the supply closet.  Now....this closet was ENTIRELY too small for the amount of employees we had working there, so it was always hazardous trying to retrieve supplies.  ( whoever chose this space....just plain stupid)  There were always boxes and crap in the way.

This day, I had to squeeze between a mail cart and a stack of boxes to get what I needed.  Just as I was doing that, a stupid, bone headed, pimple faced, short d*cked, moron (was that enough insults?) stood at the doorway and watched me.  He said "whoa...there's not enough room in there for all the supplies AND you!  (emphasis on and)

Some people are just plain....stupid.

I could, without breaking a sweat, snap this little white man's spine like a brittle stick and trust me, I wanted to rip his little balls off but...all I said was....meat is for the man.  Bone is for the dog!  He looked at me, blank faced, totally confused.

Some people are just plain....stupid.

I count it as a small victory for me, mostly because he didn't get me to go to that place....you know that place....where you just snap and the mass carnage is unfathomable?!    I think  you handled it well.
